Pigs Fly Pale Ale was created in the scenic country setting of the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. It's about an hour south of Sydney and it's famous for being the former home of cricketing legend Don Bradman, (the "Boy from Bowral" as he was known), the location for the movie, "Babe" about an incredibly capable pig that could talk, (yeah, but he couldn't fly, so what's the big deal?) It's also home to one of Australia's largest floral festivals, Tulip Time when thousands of people come to town to stand around staring at flowers. Strange but true. It's now home to one of Australia's finest craft beers, (the "beer from Bowral"), Pigs Fly Pale Ale.
On the scale of brewing companies, The Bowral Brewing Company, (the maker of Pigs Fly Pale Ale), is incredibly small. That's why you won't see use sponsoring a Grand Prix or importing a fabulously wealthy socialite to swan around sucking on one of our bottles of beer. No, every spare cent we have goes into making more and more Pigs Fly Pale Ale which is important because more and more people seem to be enjoying it and we don't want to run out.
Pigs Fly Pale Ale is the first craft beer from the Bowral Brewing Company. We only make it in small batches and we only use quality ingredients. The result is a beer that has so much flavour it's bloody hard to fit it all into the bottle! It is incredibly tasty and truly great to drink. We were tempted to call it the "Bradman of beers" but we'd probably get into trouble so we won't. Find out more about Pigs Fly Pale Ale on our pale ale page.
Look, we could go on and on and on about how good Pigs Fly Pale Ale is, and you'd be no closer to truly understanding the true essence of its award-winning beeriness. To do this, you need to taste it, and the only way to taste it is to buy some. Check our stockist list for a Pigs Fly outlet in your area. Better still, get your favourite bottle shop, pub or restaurant to order some in.
